Visual Findings:
Adults are 20-24 mm in length, are a dark brown, almost black in colour and
can climb rough but not smooth vertical surfaces
Habitat Findings:
Cockroaches are found in houses andcommercial premises associated with the
production or handing of food. Usually seen at night, they hide in cracks and
crevices around such areas as sinks, drains, cookers and cupboards etc
Consumption Findings:
Their diet consists of a wide range of organic materials including food for
human consumption, food debris, hair,leather, paper and faeces
Extra Information:
Cockroaches have been implicated in the spreading of a number of diseases,
such as food poisoning, dysentry and gastro-enteric illnesses.
