Visual Findings:

The bed bug is found worldwide and althrough Britain and is associated with poorer properties in large towns and cities.
Adults are wingless and flattened unless recently fed and are about 6mm long

Habitat Findings:

The bed bug is associated with human habitation, hiding in furniture or structual cracks and crevices, emerging at night
in search of blood meals.

Consumption Findings:

The nymphal stages feed on mammalian blood including other animals in domestic situations such as dogs, cats and rodents.

Extra Information:

Bed bugs produce a characteristic smell from faeces and scent glands. They can ingest up to 7 times their own body weight
in blood at any one meal time. The adults are highly resisitant to starvation and low temperatures, but under suitable conditions
can produce several generations per year.
